We are pleased to announce that the special issue on pain and itch has now been published.

The special issue on Pain and Itch has now been published (Volume 28, Number 2 / April 2012). This special issue publishes 11 articles from 10 laboratories in China and the USA, focusing on recent progress in our understanding of the mechanisms of pain and itch. Five articles can now be freely downloaded at http://www.springerlink.com/content/1995-8218. We hope this issue will be of interest to investigators in this field and provoke new studies that provide a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying pain and itch, eventually leading to more effective treatments of devastating chronic pain and itch conditions.
